GVGSA is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. Our Board of Directors work hard to ensure the best experience for your daughter, while maintaining a safe environment. Therefore, it is GVGSA's policy that all families participate in 4 hours of volunteer time per registered player.
An online sign up system will be used to help families organize their participation hours. At this time there will be three options for participation: concessions stands & BBQ, assistant coaching and field day. Upon registration, you will be asked to indicate your preference for participation.
Families may pay a teenager 14 years or older to do their volunteer time. Another alternative is for families to find a student who is in need of completing their community service hours.
The participation retainer check will be destroyed at the end of the season if a family has completed their 4 participation hours. If you do not show up for any portion of your scheduled hours, your retainer check will be cashed THAT DAY.
Those families who do not complete their required hours will forfeit their deposit. In this case, GVGSA has the right to cash the $100 retainer submitted.
GVGSA gives the following volunteer hour credits:
Team managers - 4 hours
Assistant coaches - 4 hours per assistant coach, up to 8 hours total of credit
Scorekeepers - 4 hours total. If you use more than 1 scorekeeper, hours will be divided among them.
